Wednesday 22nd July - bike **** – Felixstowe to Falkenham – cloudy.
Mag left on her early morning walk down to the prom and I once again headed
down to Felixstowe Ferry to take a few weather pics with a few sunny
periods before the cloud moved in! Then the usual breakfast in the garden
followed exercises and Mag suggested we head out on the bikes, a rare thing
these days, in fact it is only my third outing this year on my new (well
new to me) Boardman Pro 29er! I packed a picnic and we left home around one
trying to avoid as many roads as possible! After safely making through the
town we soon made it to the farm track at Marsh Lane leading to Kings Fleet
next to the River Deben. We head inland by the Fleet and spot a combine in
the distance but sadly could not get near it! Mag goes well on her old bike
with its electric front wheel while mine is manual, I must try harder to
find an electric bike especially at my age:) We make it to our seat at the
peaceful Falkenham Church. We then took the footpaths across farmland
towards Trimley and were surprised to see a large farm reservoir had been
built! We continued along Candlet Lane turning right to the new housing
estate, around the Academy High school and home well knackered for a
welcome cuppa, still great to be back on the bike!
